Weaving Elegance Into Every Journey
Timeless elegance meets refined craftsmanship aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express, Southeast Asia’s most iconic luxury train. Inspired by a world of ancient wonders, royal heritage and the spirit of slow travel, this project called for bespoke textile design that would seamlessly echo the train’s opulent soul.
Our team was entrusted with the design and manufacture of high-quality Axminster carpets tailored for every carriage — from the stately dining and observation cars to the private suites. Drawing inspiration from Malaysia’s landscapes, colonial charm and vibrant cultural motifs, we created patterns that evoke depth, movement and warmth, while ensuring durability and comfort throughout.
A highlight of the project was our collaboration with Dior for the design of the onboard spa, a sanctuary rendered in soft mint and powder tones. The carpet’s fluid, sinuous lines were carefully crafted to inspire calm and serenity. Produced on our Axminster looms using a custom blend of wool and lustrous yarn, the surface radiates subtle light and tranquility, perfectly complementing the spa’s refined ambiance.
Each element was meticulously developed to enhance the train’s rich narrative, working in harmony with heritage furnishings and timeless interiors. The result: a flooring experience as memorable and luxurious as the journey itself.
